Obituary of David Earl Rodgers September 20, 1938 - October 17, 2024

David Earl Rodgers, 86, of Kirbyville died Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center in Houston.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 19, at Call Junction Baptist Church with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon at the church.

A native of Timpson, Texas, he was the owner of Rodgers Texaco in Kirbyville and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  He had lived in Kirbyville 57 years.

David is survived by his children, David E. Rodgers, Jr. and wife Charlotte of Mt. Belvieu and Jennifer Ernst of Kirbyville; brothers, Will Rodgers of Michigan and J.D. Rodgers of Frankston; sisters, Yvonne Bishop of Kirbyville; Carol Williams of The Pocket; Patsy Ruth Morgan of Erin; Charlie Nell Griffin of Andrews. and Diane Akin of Clayton; 5 grandchildren, Walter Ernst and Jessica; Laken Barber and Chad; Samantha Barnett and Cody; Lane David Barber and Tyler; and Abby Rodgers and Ty; and 12 great grandchildren, Landon, McKinley, Case, Aubree, Tynslee, Kaylin, Lawson, Braydon, Easton, Charlye Kay, Ivey and Ledger.
