Newton’s Upcoming Community Engagement and Back to School Bash August 5, 2023, 9AM to Noon at Newton

It’s that time of year in which children, parents, teachers and administrators prepare for the upcoming school year to begin. This year, the Newton Volunteer Fire Department is fundraising to provide students with school supplies. The Fire Department has partnered with Newton Revitalization Group for a full morning of activities August 5, 2023, from 9Am to noon, with Touch-A-Truck, hot dogs, haircuts and school supplies for all grades. Many local business owners are providing large trucks, vehicles and equipment for people to touch, sit in, play on and learn about with the owner’s instruction. Newton County Texas is one of the most economically challenged counties in the great state of Texas. We need your help in supplying our children with proper supplies to make learning fun. When learning is fun, students are engaged and retain knowledge. Please help with any amount you deem appropriate. We appreciate your consideration of this need.

The fundraising will continue through Friday August 4, 2023. Please make checks payable to Newton Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1380, Newton, TX 75966. Please indicate in the memo section on the check, school supplies.

Please remember this event is a Community Engagement event with no charge to participate. If you feel compelled to donate, please do as your generous gift will help our children, the future of Newton County.
