Hopefully everyone had a great weekend and was able to stay warm. We are off to another busy week at the Sheriff’s Office. We are currently meeting with employees individually to listen to their career goals and exploring options to give them the tools necessary to successfully do their jobs. We have received numerous complaints on County Road 4101 pertaining to possible criminal activity. Fair warning, it is a matter of time before you end up coming to stay at the Newton County Jail. Saturday night we were patrolling in Deweyville and came across an individual who was wanted by the Texas Pardon and Parole Board. He went to jail and won’t be walking the streets of Deweyville anytime soon.        

We have answered 62 calls this week and have 8 inmates in Newton, 2 in Jasper and 6 in Beauregard Parish. Let us know if we can help, and until next week; If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.
