Calls To Service (March 18, 2024, to March 24, 2024): 

The Newton County Sheriff’s

Office (NCSO) answered 70 calls to service.

Jail Transports: NCSO had 7 jail transports;

2 to Dr Appointments, 2 from NCSO to JMH, 1 from NCSO to Beauregard, 1 from Beauregard to NCSO, 1 from NCSO to Mental Health Facility.

Jail Population:  

We currently have 23 inmates in the following jails;

10 housed in Newton, 7 housed in Beauregard, and 6 housed in Jasper.

Bon Wier Neighborhood Watch Meeting:

On Thursday, March 21st, 2024, we held our monthly meeting. I thanked everyone for their support during the Recovery Operation at the

Sabine River. The Churches and residents played a vital role in providing food, drinks, and practical support to the searchers. I wanted to thank them in person for their efforts. The next

meeting will be held on the 3rd Thursday in April.
