Calls To Service (February 19, 2024, to February 25, 2024):
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 67 calls to service.
Jail Transports:
NCSO had 13 jail transports. 1 from NCSO to Dr. Appointment, 1 from Dunn Unit to NCSO, 3 from JCSO to NCSO, 4 from Beauregard to NCSO, 2 from NCSO to Beauregard, 1 from NCSO to Orange Co, 1 from NCSO to Jefferson Co
Jail Population:
We currently have 27 inmates in the following jails.
13 housed in Newton, 10 housed in Beauregard, and 4 housed in Jasper.

It was a very tough time and awfully hard for the Perkins family members who were there every day. Please join us in keeping them in our prayers during their grief process.

PRESS RELEASE: On February 22, 2024, on FM 82, Kirbyville, Texas, we assisted Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division in the execution of a Search Warrant and arrest of Cantrell, Jefferson Randolph WM, 36 YOA.
Cantrell was arrested without incident. He is charged with a Felony in the Third Degree for Unl Poss Firearm by Felon. Bond was set at $15,000.00.
