Newton County Pct 4 Constable received a tactical ballistic shield through a grant

Newton County Pct 4 Constables office received a tactical ballistic shield through a grant funded program awarded through the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

The shield is manufactured by RTS Tactical. It is equipped with a 1200 lumen light, weighs about 35 lbs and is capable of protecting its user from various types of ammunition.

Newton County Constable Pct 4 Howie Wonders said, "Our ballistic shield will be kept in the NCCO4 patrol unit used to patrol Deweyville ISD. The goal is to never ever have to use this thing, but it's always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it; especially when it comes to protecting our children".
