Newton County fugitive has been captured

A Newton County fugitive from justice for more than two years has finally been captured.


According to Newton Police Chief Will Jackson, he had received a tip that 28-year-old Dominique Rayvon Bass had been living in the Houston area. From that information US Marshalls were able to locate and arrest the suspect.


Bass is charged with 1st degree felony Agg Robbery, 3rd degree felony Fail to Comply Sex Offender Duty to Reg Life/Annual, F* FTA Bond Forfeiture MB FTA (Interfere w/ Public Duties)- Jasper Co., and

MA Fail to ID Fugitive- Hardin Co.


The Bond Forfeiture is on a charge of Indecency with a Child/Sexual Contact.


The robbery warrant stems from an aggravated robbery back in May of 2022.


Bass is being housed in Newton County Jail with a bond of $500,000.
