Newton County Back to School Bash and Touch a Truck event was a huge success
The 2024 Newton County Back to School Bash and Touch a Truck event is in the books! Tons of children came out Saturday and were able to explore hands-on trucks and equipment that their local heros use every day to keep the public safe as well as other really cool vehicles! Plus they were given school supplies, Newton Eagles T-shirts and souch more.
The Newton Revitalization Group and the Newton Volunteer Fire Department invited everyone to come see all the amazing vehicles for show.
Everyone was able to enjoy free ice cream from Judge Ronnie Cochran, and free hot dogs from the Newton Volunteer Fire Department.
There was plenty of free school supplies and free school approved clothing items for all students in Newton County.
Vendors came out and sold other goodies and lots of really great school supplies and clothing were donated for the kids.
The event was organized by Meredith Todd Love and Melanie Smith Bowman of the Newton Volunteer Fire Department.
Love said in a Facebook post, "This event was such a hit last year! Your participation, donations and support were so appreciated!"
