Multiple departments called to a structure fire in Buna

At around 11:40 this morning, Kirbyville, Trout Creek, and Roganville Volunteer Fire Departments, as well as Orange County ESD #4 were all called out to assist Buna VFD with an already engulfed house fire located at 116 Cr 749 in Buna.
2nd Assistant Chief Jeromy Richardson said in reference to the first photo below, "The guy in the picture helping me with the fire hose wasn't even a firefighter. He was driving by and stopped to see if he could help. I didn't get his name, but him and Jasper Sheriff Deputy Herb Chrissy were a huge help".
According to Buna VFD Chief Larry McBride the homeowner said that the blaze began when her special needs son was cooking toast. He immediately called his mom. She said that the toaster jammed and caught on fire before she could get home to take care of the situation.
Our Media Partners at 12News said that the homeowner, Sharron McMahon is a paraprofessional at Buna ISD. "House is gone, but I thank God my son is alive," said McMahon.
Buna ISD superintendent and other district employees were there for McMahon at the scene of the fire for support.
"I've had so many of my employees, superintendent, everyone, different ones, coming out showing their love," said McMahon. "I really appreciate it."
McMahon added, "Any donations, any items, clothing, just whatever they can help me with," she said. "Money, monetary, anything can help, I'd appreciate it."
There were no reported injuries, but sadly, the home was a complete loss.
