Motorcyclist injured in accident in Newton County

NEWTON COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1012, near state Highway 63, that occurred on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 6:05 p.m., a 2018 KMT dirt bike was traveling south. It is reported that the rider lost control of the bike and left the road to the right and was ejected".

The rider was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Their information is not immediately available.
