Morning crash in Kirbyville sends two to the hospital

At 8:23 Wednesday morning Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department was called out to the corner of Hwy 96 and West Main Street in Kirbyville.

Kirbyville Police Officer Ashley Arce said that a 2001 Chevy Silverado driven by Molly Morgan of Kirbyville was headed North on Hwy 96. At that same time, a 2019 Chevy Silverado driven by Nathan McCollum of Orange was traveling West on Main Street.

According to Arce, Morgan ran the red light and struck McCollum's truck in the process. Morgan was ticketed.

Arce said that there were possible injuries on both drivers, but they opted to have family members take them to hospitals instead of EMS.

Morgan was taken by her dad to Jasper Memorial Hospital and McCollum had his wife take him to Baptist Hospital in Orange.
