Man seriously injured cutting tree
At 10:06am Monday morning, Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a medical call on FM 254 just north of FM 2799 for a person injured while cutting a tree.
BVFD Chief James Gunter said, "Arriving units found that the male patient suffered from a serious injury. The patient was assessed and treated by Beech Grove VFD medical responders and Allegiance Mobile Health - Jasper EMS."
The patient was transported directly from the scene by Air Rescue - Beaumont/Jasper to a trauma center in Beaumont.
BGVFD responded with an engine and 4 firefighters. Jasper EMS responded with a MICU unit staffed with a paramedic supervisor and EMT.
