Man driving a lawnmower struck by car : Updated information

The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1013, just west of County Road 404, that occurred Thursday, May 9.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 8:30 p.m., a riding lawn mower was towing a small lowboy trailer and traveling west. It is reported that a Toyota Camry, also traveling west, struck the rear of the lowboy trailer, causing the rider to be ejected.

The rider, identified as 43-year-old Kendell Cheatham of Magnolia Springs, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota and one passenger were not injured. The driver is identified as 49-year-old William Gore of Kirbyville.
