Man arrested during raid yesterday morning on drug and firearm charges

46-year-old Brian Land was arrested in the home. Relationship to the deceased is not currently known.

During the 5 am raid conducted by the Jasper Police Department Tuesday morning that ended in the death of Elvin Dean Land, a second man who was at the home was arrested. (See yesterdays article)

Officers discovered inside the home more than 400 grams of an unlawful controlled substance as well as a firearm in the possession of a felon.

46-year-old Brian Land of Jasper was taken into custody and was charged with 1st degree felony Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance as well as a 3rd degree felony of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Land went before Jasper County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace John Cooper. His bond was set at $75,000 for the drug charges and $20,000 for the weapons charge.

Land posted bond earlier today and was released.
