Major two vehicle accident in Jasper resulted in only minor injuries

Just after 10am this morning, the Jasper Police Department and Jasper Volunteer Fire Department were called out to the 1700 block of US 96 between Harvest Church and the Farm Bureau Insurance company for a two vehicle accident.

Jasper Lieutenant Garrett Foster said that a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup driven by Don White of Jasper was traveling Southbound when he pulled over onto the shoulder.

At that same time, a 2023 Mack Truck pulling tanker filled with saltwater driven by Deondric Malveaux from Spurger was also traveling Southbound in the inside lane. White then proceeded to make a U-turn into the path of Malveaux. The Mack struck the Chevrolet in the front drivers side of the vehicle.

EMS was called to the location but no one received injuries in the crash. Jasper Xxon removed the Chevrolet from the scene.
