Major accident on Hwy 63 involving Peterbilt sends one to St. Lukes
An accident involving a Peterbilt Semi-trailer and a Ford Bronco happened Friday on Hwy 63 on Camel Hill, west of Farm-to-Market Road 3414 sent a woman to the hospital while her vehicle went up in flames. The truck driver received a citation.
According to the Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3:37 p.m., a 2017 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling west. It is reported that the driver of the Peterbilt made a U-turn at the top of Camel Hill and was struck by a 2024 Ford Bronco, also traveling westbound. The Ford then caught fire."
The driver of the Peterbilt, identified as 57-year-old Richard Ellis of Corrigan, was not injured. Ellis was issued a citation for making a U-turn on top of a curve or hill.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 34-year-old Ashley Robinson of Huntington, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
