Letha Tatum Feb. 28, 1946 - March 29, 2024

A Celebration of Letha Tatum’s Life, age 78, of Nacogdoches, TX, will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, TX with burial to follow at Brookeland Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the funeral home.

Letha was born February 28, 1946, in Jasper, TX and passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at Westward Trails Nursing & Rehab in Nacogdoches, TX surrounded by family.  She was a member of Brookeland Missionary Baptist Church.  As owner of The Cake Factory, she enjoyed baking and decorating cakes.

Letha is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Tatum of Nacogdoches, TX; children, Loretta & Glenn Medley of Nacogdoches, TX, Kenneth “Bubba” & Samantha Tatum of Ocala, FL and Melissa “Katie” Tatum of Beaumont, TX; siblings  and in-laws, Kenneth Blue of Hoquiam, WA, Betty Davalos of La Porte, TX, LaJuan Retherford of Silverdale, WA, Margie Chappel of Bronson, TX and Robert & Trixie Tatum of Wallis, TX; four grandchildren, Alyssa & Steven Murray, Tabithia & Stephen Cochran, Rebecca Tatum & Jose Rafael and Dakota Chambers; six great grandchildren, Zoey Murray, Zackary Murray, Jaxson Medley, Macie Medley, Makenna Cochran and Lane Smith as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton & Theora (Sterling) Retherford; siblings, Wilma & Buddy Medley, Jack & Jane Retherford, Dee Blue, Alton Retherford, Oscar Retherford, Barbara & Tom Townsend and Loyd Tatum; grandsons, Brandon Medley and Zackary Chambers as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
