Large meth bust in Kirbyville this morning
On Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 shortly after 1:00 a.m Deputy Jason Hawthorne with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol on Highway 96 in the Kirbyville area when he observed a vehicle with defective equipment. A traffic stop was conducted and Deputy Hawthorne made contact with the driver.
A short time later, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and Deputy Hawthorne located two bags containing 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine inside the vehicle. The driver, Stephen Earle was arrested for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a first-degree felony. The estimated street value of the substance is approximately $20,000.00.
Earle was transported to the Jasper County Jail for booking. Sheriff Chuck Havard is committed to combatting illegal narcotics in Jasper County.
