Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department Responds to Wood Fire

On Sunday, February 2, 2025, just before 2 p.m., the Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a large wood fire along County Road 543, near County Road 701, east of Kirbyville. East Texas Banner arrived on the scene as firefighters worked to complete containment efforts.
According to officials, the fire spread across several acres and eventually jumped over County Road 543, prompting an urgent response from firefighters. Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department worked swiftly to contain the blaze, successfully bringing it under control shortly after 3 p.m.
Despite the fire's rapid spread, no structures were affected, and no injuries were reported.
The Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department reminds residents to always use caution when burning outdoors and to be aware of ground and wind conditions.
