Kirbyville business owner arrested on drug and weapons charges

40-year-old Mitchell Prince of Kirbyville was arrested Wednesday night at 9:30 pm in Jasper after being found with a large amount of drugs and two handguns.


According to information provided by the jail, Prince was stopped for a traffic violation on Hwy 96 in Jasper. Upon searching the vehicle, Jasper Police discovered a large amount of drugs and two loaded handguns.


We are currently awaiting additional information and will update our readers when that is made available.


Prince was taken to Jasper County Jail and was charged with Poss CS PG3 28G<200G a 3rd degree felony, Poss CS PG1/1-B 1G<4G which is also a 3rd degree felony, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor.


Prince went before Judge Cooper and his bond was set at $7,500 for each of the drug charges and $1,500 on the weapons charge. He posted bond this morning and was released.
