KHS Cheer takes 3rd place at UCA Regionals
Tonight the KHS Cheer squad hit the mat for their first competition at the Fort Bend Epiccenter. This are the first competition this year for the KHS team. The top three teams in each division qualify for Nationals at Walt Disney World this summer. Other teams in Kirbyvilles division include Lumberton and Hudson. That meant they had to battle it out with 4A & 5A schools. This competition was hosted by UCA cheer, it was special tonight as Mathue Taylor was on the mat as a UCA staff member. He was apart of the KHS cheer team the past two years, and is now attending Texas State while working for UCA. Kirbyville had a great performance overall and was able to bring home 3rd place. This qualifies the team for Nationals this summer. The next competition is in McKinney, TX to prepare them for UIL state competition in Dallas the first week of January. Great job KHS Cheer Squad we are proud of you!
