John Marion Williams Oct. 26, 1937 - March 29, 2024
A Celebration of John Marion Williams Life, age 86, of Jasper, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
John passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper, Texas. Born in Cuero, Texas, he was a resident of Jasper, Texas for the past 10 years. John served his country in the United States Army as an E-2 at Davison U.S. Army Airfield as a fuels analyst for the presidential helicopter. John married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Turner, on June 25, 1960 in Alexandria, Virginia. In 1963, he received his BS degree from the University of Texas and he later received his MS Degree from the University of Houston in Clear Lake City, Texas. John was a Chemistry teacher and school administrator for Victoria ISD and Brazosport ISD retiring in 1992; he was also a farmer who enjoyed tending to goats, cows and chickens along with his vegetable garden and fruit trees. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Jasper, Texas. His number one priority was his devotion to his loving wife, Barbara.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Williams of Jasper, Texas; son, Andy Williams and wife Dee of Montgomery, Texas; daughter, Susan Wright and husband Wes of Jasper, Texas; sister, Patsy Kerls; and two grandchildren, Alex Wright and Nick Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Marguerite Williams and sister, Inez Bailey.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
