Jasper woman arrested on felony Child Abandonment/ Endangering charges

Jasper, TX- Saturday afternoon around 4:30 p.m., Jasper County Patrol Sergeant Chris Wade received information regarding the location of an individual with a felony warrant for Abandoning/Endangering a Child which is a 2nd degree felony.

The suspect was believed to be at at Cr 247 in north Jasper County. Sergeant Wade immediately went to that location and found the individual.

The suspect was identified as being 60-year-old Virginia DuPont, of Jasper. The warrant was confirmed and she was arrested and brought to the Jasper County Jail.

Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard would like to remind the public that DuPont is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Also, Sheriff Chuck Havard and his staff are committed to combatting criminal activity in Jasper County.
