Jasper VFW Post 6380 hosted annual Veterans Day Event
Jasper VFW Post 6380 held their annual Veterans Day Lunch on Monday.
Community volunteer Brent Meaux said the luncheon was held in their newly remodeled building, and that it was the largest event in years. Meaux added that the ladies of Jasper Woman's Civic Club always do a great job planning everything out, making it a special event for everyone.
Smitty's BBQ donated the food, and Cedar Tree donated desert for everyone to enjoy.
In total, 125-126 plates were served including those for service members, veterans, and their guests.
The guest speakers included Jasper County Judge Mark Allen, Jasper Mayor Anderson Land, Jennifer Harris District Services for Senator Robert Nichols, Representative Dade Phelan, and Kimberly Hudson Cline of Lumberton City Council and Alabama-Coushatta Community Relations.
Boy Scout Troop 932 posted the flags and led attendees in the pledges and National Anthem.
