Jasper man charged with Indecency/Sexual Contact of a Child

Jasper County Jail: 44-year-old Desmond Omario Morrisey

44-year-old Desmond Omario Morrisey of Jasper has been arrested and charged with Indecency with a Child with Sexual Contact.

Lieutenant Investigator Josh Hadnot investigated the case. The initial report was taken by patrol on April 9th of this year when it was reported that the victim, a 14-year-old girl, had been touched in an improper sexual manner in a car near the intersection of Houston and Main Streets in downtown Jasper. From his investigation, Lt. Hadnot obtained a warrant for Morrisey's arrest for Indecency with a Child Sexual Contact.

Jasper County Deputy Karli Cherry says that Morrisey appeared before Precinct 6 Justice of the Peace Steve Connor. His bond was set at $75,000.00.

Morrisey was also charged with Motion to Revoke Bond with a pre-set bond of $15,000.00, as well as a Parole Violation with bond denied.

Morrisey remains in Jasper County Jail.
