Jasper man arrested for drugs and paraphernalia after accepting ride from deputy

Jasper, TX - Last night, March 11 at around 9:50 pm, Jasper County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a suspicious person on Hwy 190 near Cr 239 in Jasper.
The individual was identified as 41-year-old Jeremy Williams, of Jasper.
The deputy offered Williams a ride to get him off the highway. Williams accepted and the deputy searched him prior to putting him in his patrol car. This is when the deputy discovered a glass pipe used for smoking narcotics. He then found a small plastic bag containing believed to be methamphetamine.
Williams was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 <1G-, a State Jail Felony. He was brought to the Jasper County Jail.
As a reminder, Williams is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
