Several talented Jasper High School art students have made their mark at the 36th Congressional District Art Contest, bringing home an impressive seven of the eleven awards given in this year’s competition.
This year's theme, “Historical Landmarks of Texas,” challenged students to research and select a landmark of their choice, then bring it to life through original works that creatively showcased the use of color and texture—key objectives from their art curriculum.
The following students received recognition for their outstanding work:
Gabbie Williams – 3rd Place
Grant Rohde – 4th Place
Honorable Mentions: Braylon Barlow, Cadyn Whitton, Riley Richmond, Alex Winfrey, and Maeve McDonell
Art teacher Mrs. Jennifer Quintavalle (Mrs. Q) expressed her pride in her students, sharing, "I am so proud of all of you for putting in the time and effort to get your work done for this contest! Thanks for always putting up with me asking for more!"
With a total of seven awards among the eleven given, Jasper High School students have once again proven that hard work, creativity, and persistence pay off. Congratulations to all the young artists for representing Jasper with pride and talent!
