Shoppers and vendors alike soaked up the sunshine on Saturday, April 26th, as the Jasper Farmers Market officially welcomed spring with a bustling morning full of homegrown goods, handcrafted items, and community spirit.
Held in the Tractor Supply parking lot from 8 a.m. to noon, the market drew an impressive crowd of both locals and visitors, eager to explore a variety of booths under the clear East Texas sky. Shoppers found an array of offerings, including fresh produce, homemade pepper sauces, freeze-dried candies, handcrafted jewelry, custom woodworking, specialty apparel, fresh baked goods, unique home decor — and even hay bales fresh from the field.
Simply Leason Crochet, owned by Kalynn Brewer, was one of several local vendors bringing creativity and craftsmanship to Saturday’s market. Brewer, who specializes in handcrafted crocheted animals, baby baskets, and custom designs, shared her passion with East Texas Banner during an on-site interview.
"I’ve been doing markets for about three years now, and I've made over 10,000 animals," Brewer said. "Everything I sell comes with a 100% guarantee. If anything ever breaks, you can bring it back to me and I'll replace it for free. I want people to trust my brand."
Brewer’s creations ranged from adorable plush animals to thoughtful baby baskets — a customer favorite for springtime baby showers. “Almost everything I make is homemade, and I always try to include something for the moms too,” she added.

The atmosphere throughout the market was upbeat, family-friendly, and full of small-town charm — a perfect kickoff to what promises to be another vibrant season at the Jasper Farmers Market.
With beautiful weather, a vibrant turnout, and a wide range of unique, handmade goods, Saturday’s Jasper Farmers Market captured the true spirit of the community — creative, welcoming, and full of heart. As the season continues, organizers invite everyone to come out, shop local, and experience the magic for themselves.
