Jasper County welcomes New Sheriff, Chuck Havard!

In a New Years swearing in ceremony, Jasper County Judge Mark Allen today gave newly elected Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard the oath of office.

Havard, who takes the place of retired Sheriff Mitchell Newman, had this to say regarding his new position and the people of Jasper County, “I am very grateful that the citizens of Jasper County placed their trust and confidence in me and are allowing me to be their Sheriff. I am going to work really hard every day and do all I can to keep our citizens safe and our property protected. We will face many challenges along the way, but hopefully we can overcome these challenges with hard work, grit, and determination.”

Havard added, "More than anything else, I’m looking forward to serving the citizens of Jasper County and always being available and accessible to them and their needs. My cell phone number is 409-289-5966. I’m available 24 seven if anyone needs me”.

Havards son, Colton Havard was also sworn in today as the Sheriff of Newton County.
