Updated information: Jasper County Sheriff's Department at a standoff on 1004 W
Jasper County Media Deputy Karli Cherry has just released information on the standoff at around 12:30 Sunday morning.
Cherry said, " It was a mental health crisis. It ended peacefully with subject in route to the hospital in Beaumont. We all just left the scene."
Cherry added that the subject fired once at officers, however the officers did not return fire and thankfully no one was injured.
Kirbyville Police Department and Department of Public Safety were also on the scene working towards a safe outcome.
Due to the sensitive nature of the event, ETB will not be releasing the man's name.
