He has accumulated over 2,400 hours of law-enforcement education and training. He began his career in 1993 at the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. Shortly after going to work for the Liberty County Sheriffs Office, Lieutenant Ainsworth attended and graduated from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Academy and became a Sheriff’s Deputy. He currently is the K-9 Sergeant with the Lumberton Police Department and will remain in that capacity until 12-31-2024. Lieutenant Ainsworth will oversee our patrol operations and will be directly responsible for our patrol personnel. He will make sure that our men and women are in our neighborhoods and doing everything they can to combat thefts and drugs. Lieutenant Ainsworth is an outstanding public servant who brings many years of professional law-enforcement to Jasper County. I am proud to have him on our team and humbly thank him for his willingness to serve the citizens of Jasper County. Additionally, Lieutenant Ainsworth is also the elected Constable for Precinct 6 in Jasper County.
Lieutenant CID Commander Jason McClelland
Lieutenant McClelland resides in Kirbyville and is currently the CID Commander for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and will remain in that capacity. Lieutenant McClelland is a 19 year law-enforcement veteran and has extensive experience in investigating many types of complex cases. He will be directly responsible for supervising our investigators and ensuring all of our cases are thoroughly investigated and submitted in a timely manner to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. I have known Lieutenant McClelland for many years and I am very confident he will continue to work hard and represent the people of Jasper County with the utmost level of professionalism and class.
I appreciate the sacrifices and the willingness of both of these men to serve the citizens of Jasper County and I look forward to working with them.
