Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard captures felon in Buna's Cougar Country on Friday evening

45-year-old Steven Dwitt Marks of Buna arrested Friday night

On January 10th, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard was patrolling Cougar Country in an unmarked vehicle looking for a wanted felon. Sheriff Havard located a vehicle traveling westbound on County Road 655. The Sheriff flagged the vehicle down and identified the suspect who was placed under arrest. The suspected felon was identified as being Steven Dwitt Marks, 45, of Buna. He was arrested and brought to the Jasper County Jail. He had several misdemeanor warrants and a Felony Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
