Jasper County mourns the loss of Deputy Lesley Wade
Jasper County is mourning the loss of a Deputy, wife, and mother.
Below, Jasper County Judge Mark Allen has released a heartfelt letter regarding the sudden and unexpected loss. Sheriff Mitchell Newman released a statement as well, below Judge Allen's:
This afternoon we mourn the loss of one of our own. Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy Lesley Wade left this world far too soon, and leaves behind her husband Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Wade and their two young twin children.
She joined Jasper County with her husband Chris, initially providing security for the Courthouse as a bailiff before moving on to join the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division.
Lesley was an outstanding officer and loved law enforcement with all of her heart. She could quote statutes with great accuracy and ease and literally feared nothing.
She led by example and made her mark in the history books of Jasper County as one of our best Sheriff’s Deputies.
Go with God, Lesley. We will miss you, but are thankful you were part of our Jasper County family. You’ll always be our Hero.

Jasper County Sheriff Mitchell Newman released the following statement;
It is with shattered hearts that I announce the passing of our own Jasper County Deputy Lesley Wade, 24 of Zavalla. At approximately 9:00AM, Deputy L. Wade was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Angelina County and succumbed to her injuries after a hard fight.
Deputy L. Wade is survived by her husband, Jasper County Deputy Chris Wade, their two children whom she loved so dearly, and a multitude of family both blue and blood.
Her absence will be felt by all, and we will continue to surround her family with love and prayers as we navigate this tragedy. Deputy L. Wade served the citizens of Jasper County well, and we will be forever grateful for her service.
