Jasper County Inmates and employees treated to lunch by the Jasper Cowboy Church

With so much negativity in our area, it's good to share a positive event with our readers.

On Tuesday, March 4th, the Jasper County Cowboy Church Chuckwagon Team and the “Killer Bees”prepared a hot meal for all jail inmates and the staff of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

The team arrived at the jail at 9:15 a.m and began cooking hamburgers and fries. Also, they were served delicious cake and a cold soft drink.

Sheriff Havard stated, “More than 140 of our inmates enjoyed this meal. They have been excited for this day for over a week. Not only did they enjoy the meal, they enjoyed the fellowship with the members of the Cowboy Church. Some of these inmates do not have families so it gives them a chance to connect with upstanding members of our community and provides them with positive role models. There were numerous county officials present along with several law-enforcement officers and this way a great time for everybody. I cannot thank the men and women of the Cowboy Church enough for their time and generosity. They did not have to do this, but they did it because they care and they want to make a positive impact in our county and with our inmates. We appreciate Brother Chet and his members for an awesome day and are grateful for their support of our inmates and staff”.

Sheriff Chuck Havard
