Updated information Jasper County inmate found with handgun

The Jasper County Jail had a big scare Monday evening when an inmate was found to have a hand gun inside the jail.

29-year-old Brandon Clursky went before Justice of the Peace Brett Holloway and was charged with Terroristic Threat of a Police Officer, Public Intoxication, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Carry with a Felony Conviction. Clursky Bond was set at $131,000.


An internal investigation is still underway regarding how Clursky was able smuggle a gun into the jail. We will update our readers as more information is made available.

Jasper County Information Officer Karli Cherry said that an inmate who was had been booked into Jasper County Jail Monday evening, somehow was found to be in possession of a hand gun.


Cherry added that the gun was not loaded and was taken from the inmate without incident.


An internal investigation has been initiated to find out exactly how the inmate ended up with the weapon inside the jail.
