AUGUST 27, 2024

The regular meeting of the Board of Emergency Services Commissioners of Jasper County Emergency Services District #1 will be held at the Jasper County Sub Courthouse (33625 US Hwy 96 South) in Buna Texas on August 27, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.

The following agenda items will be discussed, considered and action taken as appropriate:

Call to order and establish quorum;

Citizen Comments

This item is available for citizens to address the Board of Commissioners on any matters. The presiding officer may ask the citizens to hold his or her comments on the agenda item until that agenda item is reached. By law, no deliberation or action may be taken on the topic if the topic is not posted on the agenda. The presiding officer reserves the right to impose a time limit on this portion of the agenda;

Mitchell Fontenot will present to District the 2023 Audit and District to take action as necessary;

Rob Clark of Architectural Alliance, Inc to make final recommendations and specifications on the Cairo Springs Station at FM 1004 and District to take action as necessary;

Representatives from Insurance companies to make quotes on coverage for the Department and District. District Commissioners will take action as necessary;

Consider for action minutes of previous meetings;

Consider for action Treasurer’s Report, payment of bills, report from bookkeeper and other reports;

Consider for action monthly reports from Allegiance Ambulance and comments, complaints and other matters;

Consider for action monthly reports from Buna Volunteer Fire Department Chief Larry McBride to include run reports, financial, membership and other reports;

Consider taking action regarding 2024-25 budget

Discuss and consider taking action regarding 2024 tax rate, including:

(a) establishing proposed tax rate and taking record vote;

(b) authorizing expense and publication of “Small Taxing Unit Notice” in Newspaper; and

To review and take action on any needed maintenance, replacement, and improvements related to the operation of the District’s station, buildings, apparatus and/or equipment;

Consider for action contract between the District and Department;

Consider for action audit for the Department;

Review of the meeting planner and discuss requests from the Board for any agenda items for consideration at the next meeting scheduled for August 27, 2024;

Adjournment
