Jasper County Deputy arrested for traffic violations
William Treadway Jasper County Jail
The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested a Jasper man for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 96, near Lela Street, within the Jasper city limits on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
According to DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark, "The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 11:07 p.m., a Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Silverado, for a failing to signal a turn. The Trooper discovered the driver’s license may be suspended and initiated an investigation into the matter. However, there was not sufficient information to make an arrest at the time of the stop, and the driver was released."
Clark added that after the investigation was completed, an arrest warrant was issued for driving while license invalid with previous convictions, which is a misdemeanor offense on November 5.
The driver who was identified as 28-year-old Jasper County Deputy William Treadway of Jasper turned himself into the Jasper County Jail today, November 5.
