Jasper County Chief's Report
November 13, 2023
By Chief Deputy Scott Duncan
The rain and cooler temperatures sure have been nice. We are thankful to the Commissioner’s Court for keeping a close eye on the fire hazard conditions and will update citizens should there be any changes in the burn ban in the near future.
The Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division has been working diligently to remove illegal substances from the streets of Jasper County. Last week, their hard work paid off when collectively, 110.5 grams of methamphetamine were seized during two traffic stops.
Narcotics officers conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday last week which resulted in the seizure of 14.3 grams of methamphetamine. Another stop on Thursday the same week resulted in 96.2 grams of methamphetamine being seized. Two individuals were arrested and charged with felony offenses.
Heightened efforts have been made by our Narcotics division as well as Jasper PD Narcotics, and we look forward to the continued results of these efforts. Keeping drugs off our streets and out of the hands of our children is a goal that all agencies are behind. It takes us all working
together, from officers to the courts, to ensure that these dealers do not continue to profit by fueling addictions that break up families and end lives.
We have 132 in the jail this morning. If you need us, call us!
Scott Duncan, Chief Deputy
Jasper County Sheriff’s Office
