Jasper County Chief Deputy Report
By Scott Duncan
January 8, 2024
We were able to make an arrest in the Cristi Ruso case last week, and that was a huge step forward in bringing closure to
the family. There is still work to be done, and we will continue to make this case a priority. Please continue to keep Cristi’s family and friends in your prayers, as they have been through such a tragedy.
Crimestoppers played a vital role in the Ruso case as we received information from tipsters that helped lead to the arrest of Tatum.
We recovered the Kawasaki Mule that was reported stolen out of
Call, TX after a tipster reported information to Crimestoppers
following last week’s Chief Report. A warrant has been issued
for the suspect, and the individual may be responsible for more
thefts in the area.
We are thankful to the citizens who provide information, and
Crimestoppers is a great program to provide incentive and
anonymity to tipsters.
We had a deputy involved in an accident over the weekend in
Kirbyville. DPS is leading the crash investigation while our agency is conducting an internal investigation. We are thankful
that no one was injured in the accident.
We have 133 in jail this morning. If you need us, call!
