Jasper County Burn Ban to end

Jasper County Judge Mark Allen said today, "The local declaration of disaster and countywide restriction will end tomorrow night at midnight, so basically Wednesday morning citizens should be able to burn household waste, brush piles, etc.

We ask that everybody use caution when burning and ensure that a reliable water source is nearby such as a water hose or large water tank. Also please monitor fires closely and do leave them until they are fully extinguished."

Allen went on to say, "We are in hopes that we will continue to receive rainfall amounts sufficient to get us clear of the drought completely, but we should not let our guard down because of the amount of dead foliage on the ground and in the woods."
