Jasper County assisted Louisiana Corrections After Bus Breaks Down

Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman states that the Jasper County Correctional Facility assisted the LaSalle Corrections Department out of Louisiana when they had bus issues while transporting inmates to

Harris County yesterday, September 21.

Sheriff Newman stated that his corrections department provided

a rec yard for the inmates to be held securely until another bus could be brought to continue their transport.

“It’s about safety and working together. We would want the same courtesy extended to us in our time of need, and so that is the courtesy we extend to others. We are glad to help where we can" Newman said.
