Jasper bridge to be closed for several months is being replaced

The Walnut Run Creek bridge on FM 777 between CR 298 and CR 144 was closed today by The Texas Department of Transportation. The old bridge is being removed and replaced with a new one. The TXDOT advisory indicates the bridge will be closed for several months.

The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department response area extends east of this bridge closure to CR 138 East at FM 777. If you live in this area east of the bridge and have an emergency that requires BGVFD response, we could be slightly delayed as our only travel pathway into the impacted area will be from US 190 to FM 777 at the Jasper County Airport or CR 138 East or CR 144 off of US Highway 190.

Any calls received from this impacted area may include the mutual aid response of Jasper VFD allowing for a quicker response. Calls from the impacted area will be evaluated individually to ensure the quickest response.
