Janet Kay Davis Adams 62 of Colmesneil Obituary

Janet Kay Davis Adams, 62, of Colmesneil, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Egypt Cemetery in Colmesneil.  There will be a gathering of family and friends immediately following the graveside service at the Colmesneil Community Center.  All are invited.

Janet was born June 6, 1961 to Jerry Edward “Ed” and Wanda Joyce Pentecost Davis in Woodville, Texas.  She was an honor graduate of Colmesneil High School and state gold medalist in UIL Journalism. She was a longtime resident of Tyler County and had served as the Post Master of Doucette, Chester, Zavalla and Colmesneil Post Offices. Janet was the most selfless person her husband Greg has ever known.  She was always thinking of others above herself.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Colmesneil.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Edward “Ed” Davis; and sister, Debbie Davis Pittman.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Greg Adams of Colmesneil; son, Matt Adams and wife Chelsea of Center; mother, Wanda Davis of Colmesneil; brother Ellison Davis and wife Traudi of Huntington; grandson, Everett Edward Adams of Center.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
