Jack Childress dies at 66

Jack Mitchell Childress, 66, of Buna died Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at his home.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Monday, Feb. 5, at First Baptist Church in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna.  Visitation will be from 1-4 pm Sunday at the church.

Jack was born September 23, 1957 in Port Arthur, Texas to Jack D. and Elaine (Blair) Childress, and had lived in Buna most of his life.  He was a Construction Manager.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Childress of Buna; sons, Mitch Childress of Lumberton, and Kyle Childress and wife Heather of Buna; mother, Elaine Childress of Buna; brothers, Frank Childress and wife Ava of California; Blake Childress and wife Angela of Buna; and David Childress and wife Jami of Colorado; and 2 grandchildren, Justin and Kylher.

Preceded in death by his father, Jack D. Childress, and a sister, Lamar Childress.
