Important Survey to determine the need for public transportation in Jasper County
The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) is conducting a Jasper County Public Transportation Survey to evaluate the demand for transit services within the county.
Jasper County Judge Mark Allen said, "Recently, Jasper County requested acceptance into the South East Texas Transit District and as a result of this, both Jasper County and the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission are working on grant-funded opportunities to provide transportation services to citizens in need of traveling between Jasper County and the counties of Hardin, Jefferson and Orange to the south for medical services, Veteran services, education, employment or other household transportation needs."
According to Allen, this survey is the first step in determining community needs to identify areas within Jasper County where transportation assistance is needed the most. Everyone is invited to participate in the survey process as we work toward developing transportation resources to benefit our citizens.
