Important information for those living below Dam B/Steinhagen Reservoir

Yesterday, Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Chief James Gunter was notified by Jasper County Commissioner Precinct 1 Seth Martindale that the flood gates at BA Steinhagen Reservoir, also known as Dam B, will be opened to release around 22,000 to 23,000 CFS of water with the gates open to 25 feet due to substantial rain upstream.

Gunter said, "Expect substantial rises in the downstream flow. Martindale states that due to the influx of water, people along the Neches river should be aware and cognitive of the situation".

Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department and ETB will continue to monitor and disseminate any additional relevant information as necessary.
