'Huge structure fire' in Buna resulted in several explosions
On Sunday morning sometime before 10 am, the Buna Volunteer Fire Department received a call regarding what was deemed
a 'huge structure fire' on 1392 Cr 616 with several explosions and structures in danger.
It wasn't long before the Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department was also called to the scene for mutual aid with tankers and manpower.
Kirbyville Fire Chief Greg Ellis said, "The structure was a shop that was about 40'X50'. They had a lot of flammable items stored inside the building which caused the explosions. Several structures were nearby; an R.V., a home, and a shed, but thankfully, none were damaged."
Ellis said that the shop was a complete loss.
