Helen Smith Feb. 19, 1929 - August 14, 2024

A Graveside Celebration of Helen Smith’s Life, age 95, of Jasper, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2024 at Antioch Cemetery in San Augustine, Texas.

Helen passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Rayburn Healthcare Rehabilitation Center in Jasper, Texas.   

Helen was a member of the Gateway Tabernacle Church in Kirbyville, Texas where she loved to volunteer her time.  She loved reading and studying God’s word.  Helen also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, collecting red birds and remodeling her home.  

Helen is survived by her son, Carl E. Smith, Jr. and wife Vickie of Lumberton, Texas; daughters, Sandra Crow of San Augustine, Texas and Melody Baker and husband, Bill of Ardmore Oklahoma; sister, Joan Bye and husband Russell of Jasper, Texas, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Adams and mother, Jewell Lawlis; husband, Carl E. Smith.; brother, Alvin Lawlis; sister, Bertie Maulding and son, Bruce Smith.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
