The Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark has released the following information regarding last night's fatal crash:
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 6:45 p.m., a 2018 Kia SUV traveling west, while a 2015 Kawasaki SxS was traveling east. It is reported that the side by side traveled into the westbound lane and was struck by the SUV.
The driver of the Kia and one passenger were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver is identified as 53-year-old Henrietta Myers of Bon Wier.
The driver of the Kawasaki, identified as 55-year-old James Reliford of Call, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.

At approximately 6:45 Wednesday night, on FM 1004 just East of 3092 in the Call Community, a Kawasaki SxS was involved in a head-on collision with an SUV. The driver of the Kawasaki succumbed to injuries sustained during the crash and was pronounced deceased.
According to reports, a second victim was flown to a Beaumont hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The investigating Trooper is currently not on duty but will return this afternoon. More information will be available then."
