Has your FEMA application been denied? You have the right to appeal!

Applied for FEMA assistance and denied.... Here are some helpful tips to appeal the decision.


Read the letter carefully to find out why the decision was made!

Do you need to provide additional information?

- Insurance determination letter

- Proof of occupancy or ownership

- Proof of ID

- Applicant's signature


File a written appeal.

Explain why you think the decision was not correct:

- Provide supporting info and documents

- Include your FEMA registration number

- Sign and date the letter


IMPORTANT: Your appeal must be mailed or faxed within 60 days of the date on the FEMA decision letter.
